One of the greatest things in my opinion about Avaña is that they actually have homes for sale. If you’ve tried buying a home in Circle C on the resale market you’ll understand that it’s hard. You get a home a few decades old coming on the market every few weeks, and in the current sellers’ market, it’s under offer before you’ve had chance to see it.
The funny thing is that we sometimes meet real estate agents who are trying to buy a home in Circle C. We met one in 2014 who had been trying to buy a house there for 18 months, and had finally decided to move on and look at a new home. So if real estate agents can’t buy themselves homes there, what chance does everyone else have? True, there are recipes for finding houses on the resale market, but it’s tricky and unpredictable.
The other option is to build a new home. It offers a few things – predictability, customization, and little things like modern building standards, lower utility bills, and a warranty. The first is that some trees are still preserved – even at the fronts of the new houses, not just on the green belt lots. The second is that the community uses a palette selected from local limestone.
